“NASCAR All-Star Race Fan Fest”:
The Town of Wilkesboro will hold a community “Fan Fest” event in conjunction with the NASCAR All-Star Race Hauler Parade on Thursday, May 18th from 4 – 10 pm featuring live music, food trucks, kids activities, etc.
The “NASCAR All-Star Race Fan Fest” will be held in and around the Carolina West Wireless Community Commons & the Heritage Square in addition to performances on the Wilkes Communications Pavilion located at 102 West Main Street in the heart of Historic Downtown Wilkesboro.

“Concerts in the Commons”:
“Concerts in the Commons” will be held on second Saturdays from 6 – 10 pm at the Wilkes Communications Pavilion in the Carolina West Wireless Community Commons, located at 102 West Main Street in the heart of Historic Downtown Wilkesboro. The venue is an inviting, family-friendly public space that features a concert lawn, food trucks, and more! Visitors can also check out the Heritage Square Splash Pad, one of the “coolest” spots for summertime fun in downtown, located adjacent to the Community Commons in front of the Wilkes Heritage Museum. Admission to “Concerts in the Commons” and the splash pad is free.

“Movies on Main”:
“Movies on Main” will be held from May through August in the Carolina West Wireless Community Commons, located in the heart of Historic Downtown Wilkesboro. Movies will be shown at sunset on a 33-foot wide screen on the concert lawn. Admission to “Movies on Main” events are free. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for lawn seating.

2023 “Christmas in the Commons”:
The Town of Wilkesboro will usher in the holiday season on Saturday, December 2nd with “Christmas in the Commons,” a free festive celebration from 4 – 8 pm in Historic Downtown Wilkesboro.
As the Wilkes County Christmas Parade travels through Downtown Wilkesboro, “Christmas in the Commons” will kick-off an evening of fun for the entire family.
Starting at 4 pm, fun and festive Christmas events will fill the Carolina West Wireless Community Commons and Heritage Square. Kids of all ages will be able to enjoy music and a variety of activities including a special visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus!
During the event, stroll through downtown and experience a winter wonderland of snowflakes and icicles while shopping with the downtown merchants!
At 7 pm, the community is invited to gather for the lighting of the Heritage Square Christmas Tree in front of the Wilkes Heritage Museum! The Mayor will be on hand to deliver season's greetings.
