The Town of Wilkesboro is excited to invite you to attend a public information meeting for the Courtside @ Cub Creek Accessibility Plaza project! The meeting will be on February 25th at 6:00 pm at the Wilkes Heritage Museum (100 E. Main St). Wilkesboro Planning & Community Development Department staff will present the project and seek public input on the proposed plans.
This project will construct an accessible community plaza at Cub Creek Park and will connect the existing recreational features in the park, such as the pickleball/basketball/ tennis courts, hatchery-supported trout waters, and picnic shelters. The plaza itself will include features such as wheelchair-accessible tabletop games, permanent cornhole boards, picnic tables, shaded seating areas, a championship pickleball court, night lighting, water misting poles, and firepits. All existing and new areas will be constructed to be compatible with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) so that everyone in our community has a safe and inclusive space to enjoy the Wilkesboro outdoors!
