CLOSING A UTILITY ACCOUNT

It is the customer's responsibility to notify the Utility Clerk of an account closing and it must be 5 days prior to moving from service location. The notice should be in writing and can be faxed to 336-838-7616 or by email.

If notice is not given to the Utility Clerk, then the customer is responsible for all utility charges until notice is given.

The customer must provide a new address to forward the final bill.

The customer must provide a new contact number for final billing questions or notifications.

Deposits can be applied to any outstanding balance on the account. Any credit balance will be refunded to the customer's name on the account.

Any account that has a remaining balance will be turned over to a collection agency after 30 days.
