Town of Wilkesboro, Wilkes County, North Carolina
This is to notify all persons that SBA Communications Corporation has filed a Tower & Antenna Use Application I Special Use Permit Application with the Wilkesboro Zoning Board of Adjustment for the construction of a wireless communication facility with a support structure on property owned by Wal-Mart Stores East, LP, identified as Wilkes County PIN 3858-20-1157 (Parcel ID 1506403). To that end, a public hearing has been set for Monday, May 18th 2026, at 5:15 p.m. at Wilkesboro Town Hall located at 203 West Main Street, Wilkesboro. All persons for or against the request are hereby notified to appear and they will be heard.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wilkesboro Town Council will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers at Wilkesboro Town Hall, 203 West Main Street, Wilkesboro, North Carolina, to consider the following:
Text Amendment Application: TA 2025-02 Subject: Home Occupations
The purpose of this public hearing is to receive public comments on a proposed amendment to the Town of Wilkesboro Zoning Ordinance related to regulations governing Home Occupations.
The Wilkesboro Planning Board reviewed the request on February 24, 2026, and recommended approval of the amendment, finding it consistent with the Town of Wilkesboro 2008 Comprehensive Land Use Plan.
All interested persons are invited to attend and be heard. A copy of the proposed amendment is available for public inspection in the Planning and Community Development Department at Wilkesboro Town Hall during normal business hours.

The Cemetery Committee will meet quarterly or on an on-call basis, with meetings on the second Tuesday of each quarter (January, April, July, and October) at 2:00 pm.

§ 97.02 Management of Cemeteries.
1. The power of decision-making shall rest in the Cemetery Committee. This Board shall be comprised of 4 Wilkesboro citizens and 1 Town Council member. The Town Manager and the Town Attorney shall be ex officio members of the Committee and shall be present at each meeting. The Cemetery Administrator shall be present at each meeting as well and must enact decisions made by the Cemetery Committee.
2. The term of office for Cemetery committee members will be 4 years as appointed by the Board of Commissioners (currently Town Council). There shall be no term limits.
3. Nominations will be made each year for Chair, Vice-Chair, and Secretary.
4. The Cemetery Committee will meet quarterly or on call basis, with meetings on the second Tuesday of each quarter at 2:00 p.m. Meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of January, April, July, and October.
